Live Plants






					We are able to provide many of our native species as live containerized plants, plugs, and bare roots. All plants are grown in the open and are already outside hardy (i.e. acclimated to stressful environmental conditions, unlike many greenhouse grown plants). If you need quantities of plants that are out of stock, we may be able to contract grow that species in the same growing season, if seasonal time permits. HABITATS provides live native plants in various forms for small and large scale projects: Traditional Containers (1 quart, 1/2 gallon, and 1 gallon pots) Stuewe & Sons, Inc "Cone-tainers" (6 and 8 inch deep cones) Stuewe & Sons, Inc. "Treepots" (for deeper root-systems) Bare-root plants (seasonally available) For large-scale projects requiring 1000's of plants we recommend contract growing with us months in advance. Remember that most native seeds require a 30-90 day cold and moist pre-treatment period before germination, and usually 1-3 months to develop a hardy root system. Bare-root plants are only available during appropriate harvesting times, usually spring and late fall. Price ranges for live plants are provided in the left margin.
